This page covers cookies and browser storage for sean.bot.nu and the SeanBot dashboard. It sits alongside the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy, which covers what the bot stores on Discord; this page is only about your browser.
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep and send back with later requests. Sites use them for things like sign-in, preferences, and tracking. This policy says which of those, if any, apply here, because the answer is shorter than most cookie policies.
sean.bot.nu is a static page. There is no login, no server-side session, and no personalisation stored on a server, so there is nothing for us to put in a cookie.
Three small values are stored in your browser instead. None is a cookie: they stay on your device, they are never sent to our servers, and nothing else can read them.
All three are strictly functional and exist only because they make the page work better for you. You can delete any of them at any time (see section 1.4), and the site keeps working without them: the accent falls back to gold and the two caches are simply filled again.
Loading a page here also means your browser requests a few files from other companies. The site serves its own typefaces, so no font request leaves this origin. We do not control the requests that do leave, and we do not receive anything back from them:
These are ordinary requests for files and data, not embedded widgets, and they do not set cookies in the context of our pages as far as we can tell. The providers do see your IP address and browser string while serving the request, and they handle that under their own privacy policies, not this one. If you block these requests, the site still works, though icons or the live count may be missing.
The dashboard is the signed-in web panel for server admins and staff, and it runs at a different address from this site. It needs one cookie to work, and that is the only one it sets.
Signing in goes through Discord's own OAuth page on discord.com. Anything Discord stores in your browser during that step is a Discord cookie governed by Discord's policies, not this one. If you block the session cookie, the dashboard cannot keep you signed in; the rest of the site is unaffected.
Like this website, the dashboard sets no analytics, advertising, or "remember me" cookies, and no third-party tracker runs on it.
You are in control of everything described above, and none of it is required to read this site:
If we ever add a cookie or a tracker that is not strictly necessary, this page and the date at the top will be updated before it goes live, and it will be opt-in rather than silent. Material changes follow the same notice period as the Terms of Service: at least 30 days, announced by the updated date on this page.
Questions about this page, or a request about your data, go to the same place as everything else: Discord DM @energetic_starfish_67605. Your data rights and the contact details for formal requests are set out in section 2.3 of the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy.
